Happy New Year !!

We're off to a great start to the new year. We had an amazing photo shoot today with a great new team of photographers- Chelsey and Evan from Hurst Photography. We did some really neat new designs and they were awesome at capturing the cakes at their best.  I can't wait to show you the pictures! We will finally have a picture of the plated  Smokehouse Chicken, with green beans and roasted potato medley.  It is so hard to explain, so we thought we'd just let them photograph it. It is now our most popular chicken dish!  Of course I made Chelsey and Evan eat what we had  just photographed.

We're going to get busy getting more pictures on the website. We have been pretty  bad at keeping up- we promise to do better this year.  Here's a few pics from the end of the year:

 I am starting today with an e-mail I received from a good friend. This is going to be my new outlook on life. I hope you can adopt it, too;

One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport.

We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us.

My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches!

The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us.

My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy.

And I mean, he was really friendly.

So I asked, 'Why did you just do that?

This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!'
This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, 'The Law of the Garbage Truck.'

He explained that many people are like garbage trucks.

They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment.

As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you.

Don't take it personally.

Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on.

Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets.

The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day.

Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets,

so ... Love the people who treat you RIGHT, and Pray for the ones who don't.

Life is ten percent what you make it

and ninety percent how you take it!

Have a blessed, garbage-free day!

I hope you all have Garbage-Free days ahead!

Now how about some pictures!!!

Another thing we changed about our website is the addition of a blog. Here we will post new pictures each week in the blog section, and tell you a little about each cake and/or event. We will try our best to incorporate a little trivia in each blog about how some wedding traditions got started or have evolved over the years. If you have questions on wedding or event etiquette, just ask. If we don't know the answer, we find out for you. We are also going to link the blog to our Facebook page. So, if you aren't a fan of Jo's, please find us on Facebook and become a fan.

We want to take this opportunity to thank our many loyal customers for over our first 7 years of business! We couldn't have made it this far without you. We would also like to thank our staff, many have been with us for 5 or more years. We will put our staff up against anyone's around.
